Not only are us Chevy enthusiasts anxiously awaiting the arrival of the super-powered, electric Chevy Volt, but now we can get hyped for the stateside debut of the 2011 Chevy Cruze.

The Cruze, which reportedly is the new replacement for the current Cobalt, is said to be quite the competitor for the well- established Toyota Corolla. This 2011 standard-size sedan can come packaged with either a turbocharged 1.4L, 4-cylinder engine, producing 138 hp and 148 lb/ft of torque, or a naturally aspirated 1.8L power source. With the naturally aspirated engine, it’s guaranteed the Cruze will have incredible fuel economy and performance, but with the turbocharged engine, the Cruze is still estimated to achieve an average of 40 mpg which tops most cars in its category.

Available in three trims- LS, LT and LTZ- the 2011 Cruze will come standard with Chevy’s five-year/ 100,000-mile powertrain warranty- the best in the country.  Another great feature of this new Chevy is the safety features. The Cruze will be built with 10 standard air bags, which will guarantee the ultimate protection for the driver and both front and back seat passengers.

In addition to its safety features, phenomenal fuel economy and superb warranty, the Cruze also comes with some pretty impressive updates to its interior (from the Cobalt). It features two-tone black and brown leather, some chrome accents, a backseat 60/40 split bench and and updated, advanced and user-friendly dash.

While the Warrensburg Chevy Cruze won’t be available until the third quarter of 2010, it will definitely be worth the wait.
