You know the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?” Well, Chevrolet has taken this saying and applied it to the 2011 Chevy Silverado. The Chevy Silverado has always been one of the most popular Chevrolet models and always been a customer favorite. So, why make any changes to the look of the car if customers are happy with it. So that is why when you look at the new Silverado it doesn’t look any different, but all have the changes have been made internally to now make it the leading truck in it’s class over a number of different categories.

Chevrolet headquarters tells the Kansas City Chevy Malibu dealer that the biggest change that they have made to the new Silverado is underneath the car, it’s brand new. In terms of torsion, the fully boxed from is 5 times stiffer than before, this has improved ride quality and upgraded the hauling capacity for the Silverado. It is now capable of 17,700 pounds of conventional towing with a fifth-wheel hitch and 6635 pounds payload, which Chevrolet headquarters tell the Kansas City used car dealers is the most out of any other car in it’s segment. What also makes the Silverado the most unique car in the segment is the fact that it has a  fully independent front suspension, rather than the solid axle that is on other car in it’s class.

The next major change they have made to the Silverado is with it’s engine. They have made it’s 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel engine more powerful from the previous model, cleaner-burning with DEF injection, 11 percent more fuel efficient and up to 50 percent quieter at the most common operating speed of 1500 to 1600 rpm. They have also upgraded the brake system on the Silverado. Chevrolet headquarters told the Kansas City new used car dealers that they have upgraded the brake hardware and have enhanced the pedal feel. This is to make the Silverado feel more like a car rather than a huge truck.

It sounds like the 2011 Chevy Silverado is better than ever and would be the perfect car if you want the feel of a car, but power and space to tow a ton of cargo. If the new Chevy Silverado sounds like the car for you, go to your Kansas City Chevy Malibu dealer to check it out!
