As production and distribution of the Chevy Cobalt comes to a halt, the new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze moves into the spotlight. The Cruze is the all-new front-drive, five-passenger compact sedan that is somewhere between the Aveo and the Malibu, but definitely more car than the Cobalt has been during its run in that spot in the lineup.
As a used car driver looking for a new car, I feel confident that the Chevy Cruze would be a great choice. The exterior of the car is attractive and the interior is equally as impressive. The Cruze offers slightly wider tracks, a stretched wheelbase, and optional 17-inch tires, giving the car a bit of a smoother, finer drive than a Cobalt. The optional six-speed automatic transmission is a first for this family of vehicles and the five-speed manual allows for great highway cruising.
The Cruze is the first car in the Chevrolet family that is part of the going green campaign. Although it has taken Chevrolet some time to get there, this car is cost-effective and enviable as a global model. This makes the Cruze General Motor’s most significant car it has ever produced and it has been said that annual sales of the Cruze could reach 1 million vehicles.
In terms of measurements of the vehicle, the passenger cabin beats the competition, with its good looks and quiet drive. The backseat of the car is also impressive and edges out others in its category with plenty of legroom and shoulder room. The trunk of the car is the best in its class, with 15.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity and the American model will offer a one-piece folding seatback with a pass through, with the option for a 60/40 seat.
According to initial reports and calculations, the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze should offer the most comfort, space, and quality of any car in its class and at in its price range. It was said that a U.S. model of the Cruze with a five-speed manual transmission could start at $15,000 so will go up from there with upgrades and add-ons. Kansas City used car drivers should think about trading in their cars for a new 2011 Chevy Cruze.
