We’ve all seen Apps on cell phones, iPads and other mobile devices. OnStar and Google, who have teamed up to create a new Chevy Volt App, are taking the next step in App technology. Your Kansas city used car and new car dealership, as well as other Overland Park Chevrolet dealers are anxiously waiting for the new App to make its way into new Chevy vehicles. Until now, this type of technology has not been seen in vehicles, and this marks a new era of in-car technology.
The new App was debuted at the Google I/O show this May. OnStar representatives insist that their primary focus will always remain on safety and security. Their new relationship with Google is simply an example of the direction that OnStar plans to move in and a way to establish their leadership position in connected vehicle technology. Overland Park Chevrolet drivers will now have the most advanced technology in their cars when they purchase a new vehicle with the Chevy Volt App. These consumers will also be among the first to have the in-car experience that this new App will offer.
OnStar, which is currently available in some Kansas city used cars, has added new features to the existing Chevy Volt mobile App. The current Chevy Volt App will get a navigation tab, which will allow the car’s location to be pinpointed by Google Maps. Another upgrade the current App will receive, one that is similar to the Andriod smartphone, is a voice search feature for destinations as well as OnStar turn-by-turn directions.
The App will also have other upgraded features, such as the ability to remotely pre-condition the car’s interior temperature and display total miles per gallon for your last trip or lifetime, to name a few. Overland park Chevrolet drivers will give Chevy Volt owners a personal connection to their cars. With the introduction of the App, we can expect that others will follow in these footsteps. Consumers everywhere should be excited to see what will be coming up in the future of in-car technology. Safety, stability, and entertainment technology meet with this new partnership between Google and OnStar.
