Consumers Digest conducts its annual Automotive Best Buys awards which recognize various vehicles as ‘Best Buys’. The performance, purchase price, ownership costs, quality and performance are among the factors that vehicles are rated upon. Based on these criteria, Chevy had more models on last year’s ‘Best Buys’ list than any other automaker considered. Of the over 240 vehicles that were evaluated, 36 vehicles landed on the ‘Best Buys’ list and seven of them were Chevys.

Chevy Malibu

The Chevy Malibu was awarded a ‘Best Buy’ status in the Family Car category. The Malibu was the best selling car at your Kansas City used car dealer last year and remains a strong competitor in the midsize sedan segment thanks to its strong performance, spacious interior and excellent crash test scores.

Chevy Camaro & Chevy Corvette

The Camaro and Corvette debuted on Consumers Digest’s list in the Sporty Cars category. The Camaro was all new for the 2010 model year and was praised for its excellent performing direct-injected V6 which powers the muscle car from 0 mph to 60 mph in 6 quick seconds. The Camaro’s powerful performance paired with impressive fuel economy and affordable price tag set the car aside from the competition and earned it a spot on Consumers Digest ‘Best Buys’ list.

Kansas City used car drivers were first introduced to the Corvette in 1953 and it has since become one of America’s most popular sports cars. The Corvette has been praised for its more than ample power capable of producing 638 horsepower paired with its accommodation to the everyday driver.

Chevy Silverado

Consumers Digest ‘Best Buys’ list included the Chevy Silverado in its Pickups category thanks to its versatility, long list of available options and powerful performance. Used car drivers saw subtle tweaks to the Silverado for the 2010 model year which included better fuel economy and more standard safety features. The Silverado’s rugged exterior, passenger oriented interior and Chevy-standard power landed the truck on the ‘Best Buy’s list and have made it a favorite among KCMO drivers.

Chevy Equinox

Of the six compact SUVs that earned a ‘Best Buy’ status was the Chevy Equinox. The Equinox debuted at your used car dealer with an all-new design for the 2010 model year which entailed a sleek exterior and an upscale interior not indicative of its price tag. 2010 also brought a more fuel efficient engine lineup for the Equinox and a more affordable price tag which have made the car a tough competitor in the compact SUV segment.

Chevy Traverse

Offering the space you’d expect in an SUV paired with the drivability and fuel efficiency of a sedan, the Chevy Traverse landed on the list in the midsize SUVs category. Aside from the addition of some standard amenities, the Traverse remained largely untouched for the 2010 model year. The Traverse comfortably seats up to eight passengers, has a number of seating configurations and top safety scores making it the ideal car for the family driver.

Chevy Tahoe

Last but not least to make the ‘Best Buys’ list was the Chevy Tahoe. Used car drivers have praised the handsome cabin of the 2010 Tahoe which features upscale materials, an available sunroof and a high-tech entertainment system. The Tahoe’s ample interior space which seats up to nine passengers, its strong towing capabilities and truck-like utility have made it a favorite in the full-size SUV segment.
